5-Star Brilliant! A No Brainer For Any Home or Office!
Update - V2 is much improved and now you can add your very own Fax Number(s). The Number 1 reason that iFax is a No Brainer App to add to my iMac Work station, is simply that I live over 1 hour to the nearest UPS or Office Max store, JUST to Fax documents to agencies that still use a fax.
99 cents and NOT having to drive over an hour, one-way, and not having to buy $25 bucks of gas, is a No Brainer.
Plus the convienence of not having to spend half a day going into town and back is absolutely worth it.
iFax results speak for themselves, and while not 100% Perfect App, it still get’’s the J-O-B done for me, in Hawaii.
First Review on June 2016 follows below - -
Recently I upgraded to Mavericks, and thanks Apple for the Freebie, as it has been a really new adventure from Snow Leopard; and made me realize that I was missing some much needed App’s for my biz.
One of those needs was having some sort of Fax service capability, since donating my previous fax machine and elimanating my old “land lines”, remember those, people?
When I started searching for Apple desktop fax app’s, I didnt find anything rated above 3 stars for Snow, however, I did notice that there was a lot more to gain if I upgraded to Mavericks, and that included a new handful of fax app’s, with iFax an obvious top contender.
Pro’s:
* Set-up is simple via the App Store. Download to desktop, Install, and Open app.
* Send/Receive to the US & Internationally. Few other app’s have this feature. But there is a Caveat to note, see Con’s.
* UI dispaly is logical, well-rendered and very easy to access, without a lot of unnecessary bell’s & whistles.
* From HOME, click on the NEW FAX Green button opens up the Wizard, which then takes you thru about 4 to 6 steps & options before hitting SEND.
* 99 cents to Send up to 5 pages, that is the BEST DEAL EVER! Think of all the Time, Energy, Gas and extra fee’s SAVED from having to go to some
Mailbox Center or UPS, stand in line, fill out another form, and have Everyone else see, &/or, hear your Biz!
* I can iFax any document, any day, any time, no reservations, 24/7, in my PJ’s.
* Caveat - Scanning documents into PDF files may result in a larger File Size than anticipated. I recommend scanning documents to less than 1MB, and saving them as a JPEG file. I have tested both today and saw a huge difference in the Send & Confirmation times, it was very Significant. I did Not read anywhere in the Wizard about what the “PREFERRED FILE SIZES” are, and was sure that sending a 3 or 4 MB file, may crash this app, maybe someone else here has had some experience with that, but, it could also be my location … Hawaii.
Con’s:
* Other than the document File Sizes
* The Incoming (Receive) fax PRICES are pretty Expensive. I’d like to see a better affordable US & Canada Rate prices.
Mahalo iFax for creating such a great App!
Live Aloha!
