iFax: Send & Receive Fax App App Reviews

Was looking for a way to send faxes from my iMac, and came across this. Installation is easy, and purchasing the first round of “credits” to send faxes went smooth. My first attempt didn’t work (recieved the ‘telephonye” issue that others have noted), but hit the "try again for free” option and it worked the second time. Tried to send another fax just after that, and it didnt work - but there wasn’t a reason for why… just that it didn’t work. So I tried the resubmit button twice, no luck either time. I quit the program and opened it again, and when I did I lost the option to re-send for free. So I retyped the fax number (it was correct, I just re-entered it thinking maybe it would help) and it still wouldn’t work. As I attempted to problem solve the issue, all of the credits I had purchased were used, and I still couldn’t get the app to work properly. I tried to contact support - but there isn’t an email or telephone number on their web site, and there isn’t anything to find within the app as far as I can find. Neat idea… wouldn’t use this app - but really wished it worked. Was going to subscribe for a fax number, but feel I’ve wasted $9.99 already on the “credits” I purcahsed to send a simple fax. 1/3/2017.

When we gave up our home fax, I searched for alternatives. iFax is the answer! I have had to send faxes to companies and doctors from home and buying the credits is very reasonable. Saves me running to a public place and spending more to send a few simple pages. The cover sheet options are simple and straightforward. If you just need to know you can fax when and wherever you are, then this is the app for you! Highly recommended!

It has the fundamentals right - easy to use interface, navigable, flexible. HOWEVER, in the three years I have sporadically used this app I’ve noticed it is NOTORIOUSLY slow during actual transmission. A four page fax of simple text originally a whopping 85K in size should not take an hour to send. It doesn’t matter if I’m connected wirelessly at home or my office, with no multitasking or downloading going on in the background…still takes forever. Not an issue with another fax app I’ve used... The fact there is no built-in or integrated help function is also an annoyance.

this program used to be awesome but since the last update, it doesn’t work, just freezes up after it says confirmed purchase and forces you to force quit. what a shame!

Downloaded and tried to send a simple 3 page fax on my El Capitan MBPro…Added credit and everytime I pressed send fax…it just froze my machine (The charges for in-app purchase worked wonderfully so I guess I am out the $2) Don’t waste your money...

I might use this app maybe 5 to 7 times a year. I wish I could say MOST of the time it works, but I can’t. Most of the time it don’t work. I have to get help from Crowed Road which take several days to finally get resolved. When I need to fax a sheet now, it wont get there until days later. So now I have a ‘PAID and UNSENT’ draft every time. Because I don’t have the need to use it a lot, I end up using the ‘PAID and UNSENT’ a year later. Its so messed up with this App.

I used to use ifax weekly and it worked well. After I upgraded my system to 10.12.1 it takes the money ok but just hangs in the Payment Process window. Hope there will be an upgrade/patch.

Like others, I downloaded and attempted to send a fax - it froze, never sent the fax (we verified it was not received), charged me 4 times - contacted the company with the issue requesting a refund and have not heard back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM APP!!! MBP - running Sierra 10.12.2

I use it three or four times a year and havent’ had a problem until now, Jan 2017, can’t buy credits, the app just hangs, upgraded and now the credit page doesn’t make sense, the options on the credit page have nothing to do with buying credits as far as I can make of it and you click on an “makes no sense” option nothing happens. I need a fax sent tonight and iFax was not reliable, tried Help and got "Help isn’t available for iFax”, had to find another fax App,

I only have to use a Fax a handful of times a year so I wanted an easy and cheap solution. With iFax I found that solution. I don’t have to pay for a subscription or the software, all I have to do is just download it one time and then pay per Fax I send. It has simple user friendly features and a few cover sheet options to choose from to suit your needs. For me, it is the perfect solution for sending a fax and I would recommend iFax to everyone who needs a simple and fast Fax solution. Good luck!

I use this application to send faxes about a dozen times a year. To date, I have had no problems. One time I had a little difficulty buying credits, but it turned out it was an oversight on my part. So I am a happy iFax camper.

I have tried unsuccessfully numerous times and the app, just does not work! I have spent coins to unsuccessfully send and fax and spent coins to “successfully” send a fax that did NOT go through. I really want my money back. Total waste of time and money! No support!

used to be brilliant, cheap and quick but it no longer works fax won't send. Contacted the support desk and after several emails - no help 'try again' ' we tried your fax number you were sending to and it works' 'try creating a new fax' (get charged for that one) Tried sending it from the iPad version (same account) and uninstalling and reinstalling ifax on iMac nothing

For those who need to send few faxes and dont want to bother to buy a machine. This is a great solution.

very good little fax machine, price for sending less than 5 pages is very affordable. It may take longer than expected for sending but patience pays off. Glad I got this app. Keep up the good work!

I needed a fax app to send bank documents - I couldnt believe people still send faxes!! After trying several apps that state they can do this I finally tried this one and it works! I like how it charges directly from my apple account so no credit card needed. Nice interface and simple to use. It would be great if it could import a contact and fax number directly from my contacts folder??? Can it do this??

The app is free, but it costs .99 cents or euros to send up to four pages. There are various rates. For me, this is well worth the price because I only fax rarely, and it is more convenient to use than going to a store to have it sent, cheaper in the end, all things considered. I highly recommend this app.
